John has been active in the area music scene for over 35 years and has been a valuable asset to many area bands as both a guitarist and a bassist.

John was one of the members of the legendary Smythe' Brothers, playing bass, keyboard bass, and singing some vocals. The Smythe' Brothers, had local hits on radio stations in the capital area during the late 70's and 80's.

John was also one of the founding members of Cleen Street back in 1988 and has been the driving force keeping the band going for over 20 years. His rhythm guitar work is unparalleled.
